About The Customer
SEWA Rural (Society for Education, Welfare, and Action–Rural) is a voluntary development organization in India providing health and development activities in rural tribal areas since 1980. The organization focuses on developing the rural, poor, and tribal populations through various healthcare, economic development, and women empowerment initiatives. SEWA Rural’s healthcare programs include Comprehensive Eye Care, Primary Health Care (PHC), Reproductive and Child Health (RCH), Safe Motherhood and Newborn Care, and more. Apart from this, SEWA Rural provides various medical and health services initiatives for marginalized and underserved sections of society. These initiatives include setting up hospitals, community health service & research programmes, training and resource centers in health, and more.
SEWA Rural is also focused on settingup various education and economic & empowerment programmes for the underserved sections of society i.e., women, tribals and the poor. Keeping in mind the improvement of the economic, social, and educational condition of poor women, SEWA Rural also carries out various educational, economic, and awareness generation activities to contribute to women’s empowerment.
The Catalyst for Change
SEWA Rural recognized the importance of enhancing its IT infrastructure as per the newer technologies and more secure practices. They were also looking to secure their ongoing service delivery data through a proper system to increase the efficiency. The primary focus of SEWA Rural was to enhance network security by optimizing data backup processes and improving access control mechanisms. The organization was also looking to improve its overall operations, so it sought the help of Exigo Tech, a leading provider of IT solutions. Exigo Tech’s team of experts conducted a comprehensive assessment of SEWA Rural’s IT infrastructure to identify the areas that needed improvement. After a comprehensive assessment, Exigo Tech found a need for enhanced network security for SEWA Rural to overcome vulnerabilities to cyber-attacks and unauthorized access. Additionally, the organization lacked a robust data backup solution, which put critical data at risk of loss or damage. Furthermore, access control was a challenge, and employees faced difficulties accessing the organization’s resources and data remotely.
The Solution
Exigo Tech proposed several solutions to address SEWA Rural’s IT infrastructure challenges. Firstly, to enhance network security and prevent unauthorized access, our team recommended the implementation of Sophos Enterprise Firewall. We also provided a backup solution that enabled regular offsite backups of critical data to ensure data integrity and quick data recovery in the event of data loss or disasters. Furthermore, we deployed a Synology NAS Storage Device, which offered a reliable data backup and fast data recovery, ensuring business continuity.
Additionally, Exigo Tech created a new domain that served as a centralized platform for user authentication, resource sharing, and network management. The domain creation enabled better access control, security, and management of user accounts and permissions. We also facilitated the secure migration of all local data to the new domain and configured a VPN to provide remote workers with secure access to the company’s internal network. The VPN allowed employees to access company resources and data from any location, providing them with flexibility while maintaining network security.
Furthermore, our IT team deployed an enterprise-level server with virtualization to provide the company with a scalable and robust IT infrastructure. We also provided in-house training to the company’s employees on Microsoft Apps, Server, Firewall, and Security Awareness. The training helped improve the employees’ technical skills and knowledge, enabling them to use the new IT infrastructure effectively and securely.
